Every two minutes a young person enters the foster care system.
Some young people credit foster care with saving their lives. Others wonder whether they should have been removed from their family in the first place. Many youth fall somewhere in between. Today, there are more than 423,000 children and youth in foster care today.
Foster care provides a critical safety net. But being in the system brings its own unique challenges for young people.
